What is a Native plant and why should I care? Native Plants our those which have grown naturally in areas for thousands of years. Here in South Florida we are lucky to have an abundance of trees, shrubs and flowers to choose from! Natives are better adadtd to the environment and more importantly require less water and provide much need nutrition for wildlife. Sadly many of our Native species are in decline so as a consequence of this, many of the bees, birds, butterflies and myriad of pollinators are disappearing rapidly.

Luckily people just like you can contribute to the bounce back of plants & animals by simply planting Native plants in your homes, parks or business while adding a real taste of Floridas Natural beauty.

  • STOP planting invasive species and START planting native species! Species that naturally thrive in our area.

  • REINTRODUCE NATIVES in our parks, communities, highways, around our businesses, schools and in our homes.

  • PLANT HOST PLANTS and the butterflies will come… even before you take the plants out of the pots! Without one, the other cannot exist.

  • PROVIDE NATIVE PLANTS and native animals will return. Enjoy visits by beautiful birds and hummingbirds.

This is a powerful, tangible way to contribute to Everglades Restoration.

If we are to preserve and remediate the land, then we all must begin to plant native species and not just here but all around the World.  By doing so we will be providing habitat and food sources for the multitude of wildlife that dearly depend on these plants, for they are inseparable.

If you plant them they will come.  Join us in contributing to the bounce back of the Flora & Fauna.
